Bipolar Bear!

Bipolar Bear!

Postby Concrete_Turtle » Jan 23, 2012 1:00 pm

Last night, I came up with what I thought was an original idea. Unfortunately, when I googled "bipolar bear," I discovered that other people had already thought of it. So this is my version of the Bipolar Bear. I decided to make it a stencil because I've been sort of obsessed with them lately. I plan to stencil my design onto t-shirts with fabric paint. This is draft number one and I was hoping to get some feedback and critique on it. I feel like it's not finished, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I was also wondering if I should add the text "Bipolar Bear" to the design or just leave it as an image only

I also made one of Leon Frank Czolgosz, the guy that assassinated President McKinley. I have always liked him because he had a very tragic life.

Stencils are one of those things that I don't see nearly enough of, but are more than welcome when I do see them. I love the inherent contrasts they create. Well done.

Did you hear of the hip-hop artist called bi-polar bear? Every once and awhile he comes into concerts where I live and the newspaper wrote up on him. I've been thinking about listening to his music.

Nice!
Anyway, it's no big deal. I listened to his stuff on youtube and checked it out but it's not really my kind of music. Not bad or anything. I was hoping for some lyrics that would speak to the bipolar experience and I guess they are sort of there but the music style isn't my favorite and I don't really like his voice that much. Bummer

One of my favorite paintings I did was a teddy bear in oil during psychosis. I called it the Bipolar Bear during the process it went through many beautiful transformations until I painted it mostly gray and blue. The great thing about psychosis is I could paint really well.
